Pixton

Educators who are looking for an exciting way to motivate and engage their classes should consider a medium that students would probably rather spend time on anyway: web comics. Adventurous teachers should look to Pixton, a sophisticated and easy-to-use online platform that allows anyone, regardless of artistic ability, to quickly author colorful personalized comics. This award-winning "click-n-drag comics" tool could be useful in multiple industries, but the carefully designed educational edition specifically caters to teachers and students.

In addition to the obvious appeal of cartooning in class, Pixton offers a persuasive pedagogical justification for use; it facilitates the development of specific skills, including conveying precise ideas, telling stories in a logical sequence, and collaborating and communicating with others. It is especially ideal for language classes, because it fosters the type of creative interactions necessary for language acquisition and tools like voice recording allow for listening and pronunciation practice.

This is my first Pixton experience and I tried to show some quotations from William Shakespeare's Romeo&Juliet.

Canva

Canva is a graphic design tool website which provides access to over a million  photographs, graphics, and fonts. It is used by non-designers as well as professionals.

Canva provides teachers and students with a simple new way to design. Its drag and drop functionality enables them to create presentations, posters, one-page documents, and social media posts.

Students can create designs to be shared with the entire class. They can provide view-only access or give classmates or their teacher an opportunity to collaborate on the same design.

Kahoot

Kahoot is very easy to use to create quizzes and surveys. The website takes you step by step through the creation process. Both quizzes and surveys are created in the same way. You first start by creating a title for your quiz or survey. Then, you are brought to a new screen where you start creating your quiz/survey by typing your first question. Next, you type in at least two answers (no more than four answers) to your question and mark which answers are incorrect or correct by a click of a button. You also have the ability to add images to your question by either dragging the file into the workspace or chose the file from your device.

Kahoots are best played in a group setting, for example, a classroom. Players answer the questions on their own devices, while games are displayed on a shared screen to unite the lesson. It creates a ‘campfire moment’ encouraging players to look up and celebrate together. Besides creating your own kahoots, you can search among millions of existing games.

Seesaw

Hello, friends.I want to tell about the a website which is named "Seesaw". It provides opportunities for students and teachers to really think outside the box. Students can show their work and thought processes in real time by submitting a video of themselves working through a math problem, snapping a picture of a paragraph they wrote, recording themselves reading a poem, or uploading a file to demonstrate their learning. Encourage kids to submit a series of images along with notes that tell the story that connects them. Or let kids collaborate with each other using peer-to-peer feedback to offer suggestions on writing content, scientific hypotheses, or creative ideas. Here is my Seesaw! Vidcast

FIRST LANGUAGE ACQUISITION

The acquisition of first language is a natural process. Child acquire language through interaction with others. They go through some stages when they acquire a language.
First stage is babbling stage. Babbling sounds are language like sounds. They mostly consist of consonant-vowel sequences like ba, da and ma.
The second stage is one-word stage. At this stage, one word can be used to communicate to whole idea. For example, cookie means ; I want to eat cookie.
Overextention: When the child takes the name of  a person or object and names all the things that look similar to it.
Underextention: Children often use words with more restricted meanings rather than the word has in adult usage.
The third stage is two-word stage. These two word utterances are usually in the form of noun-noun or noun-verb. Function words such as articles, prepositions, and grammatical endings are remarkably lacking.

If you are more interested and curious about the first language acquisition, you can watch my vidcast.
